Student Nick K. Biology, Gleich Honors College Student: “Being a part of the Gleich Honors College is really meaningful for me because I
can really dig deeper into my studies, and it also just builds a sense of community
                              for me.”

Nick K.: “As a freshman, starting in the Gleich Honors College, we all take the same class.
So we have a class with the cohort in that year. And that definitely built a strong
                              sense of community for me.”

“So I appreciated that. And we also have amazing advisors that are willing to help
you along every step of the way.”
Nick K.: “In the Gleich Honors College, it really kind of pushes me to go a little bit further
with my major and seeing, you know, what are the interdisciplinary things that I can
do or look at, especially with research.”

Text on screen: Experiential Learning — Developing critical and analytical skills.
Nick K.: “A lot of the research that I'm doing right now has a focus on LGBTQ health care
and how people in the queer community are affected in the field of medicine.”
[Video of a student wearing goggles, looking at and filling test tubes]
Nick K.: “So not just looking at solely the pre-med aspect of my major, but I can extend
that into how is the community affected.”
[Video of students in the auditorium and conference room watching presentations.]
“So interdisciplinary research is a big part of the honors college. And then also
going on and presenting that, as well, and even looking to like publish some findings.”
[Video of students presenting in the Sunnen Lounge in the University Center.]
Nick K.: “So there's no confusion about what your path in Gleich may be. For me, I definitely
want to take the more research side of things, but that's not necessarily the case
                              for everyone.”
Text on screen: Community Outreach — Explore academic and cultural opportunities
Nick K.: “You can also do a lot more like community outreach. You can do more global research.
There's definitely a lot of push to study abroad if you're able to. And I love that
                              about the Honors College.”

Nick K.: “I definitely was relieved to know that I have a community, and I'm able to build
friends and make connections for people who are trying to do the same kinds of things
                              that I'm doing.”
