APBA 2200 Applied Behavior Analysis for RBT Certification (3)

This undergraduate course introduces students to the knowledge and applied skills required of entry-level behavior technicians. The course covers foundational principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), participation in assessment procedures, evidence-based teaching strategies, behavior-reduction approaches, ethics and professional conduct, documentation practices, and essential technician-level competencies.

While this course is not part of a specific degree program, it is offered as an elective for students in education, psychology, or related fields. Completion of the course provides the 40 hours of required instruction and prepares students to be eligible to sit for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) exam, provided they also complete the required skills competency assessment with an approved employer or supervisor.

APBA 2700 Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis (3)

This undergraduate-level course delves into the foundational concepts and principles of behavior analysis, with a focus on conceptual analysis. This course provides an in-depth exploration of behavior assessment methods used in applied behavior analysis, with a focus on Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). Students will learn to identify the environmental variables influencing behavior and apply a systematic approach to understanding challenging behavior through indirect assessments, descriptive assessments, and functional analysis. Emphasis will also be placed on skill-based assessments that inform intervention planning and individualized support strategies.

APBA 2720 Ethics and Professionalism in Behavior Analysis (3)

This undergraduate-level course delves into the intricate ethical considerations within the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Over the course of eight weeks, students will engage in a comprehensive examination of ethical principles, dilemmas, and decision-making processes pertinent to professionals practicing ABA. APBA 2730 Behavior Interventions (3)

This undergraduate-level course provides an in-depth study of evidence-based behavior intervention strategies used to teach new skills and promote lasting behavior change. Emphasis is placed on the principles and application of positive reinforcement, instructional design, and behavior modification techniques. Students will explore and apply methods such as shaping, chaining, prompting, fading, generalization, and maintenance of behavior.

APBA 2740 Methods in Behavior Analysis (3)

This undergraduate-level course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the measurement techniques, data display, and analysis strategies essential for effective behavior analysis. The course covers key topics such as measurement systems, data collection procedures, and single-case experimental designs, which are central to evaluating behavioral interventions. Students will also explore methods for program evaluation (e.g., interobserver agreement [IOA], procedural integrity [PI]), and will develop skills in using data to guide decision-making in behavior analytic practice.

APBA 2750 Supervision in Behavior Analysis (3)

This undergraduate-level course provides students with an in-depth understanding of the principles and practices of supervision and leadership within behavior analytic settings. This course covers key topics such as performance analysis and management, supervision strategies, staff training, behavioral systems analysis, and organizational culture. Students will explore methods for effectively managing and leading teams, addressing performance issues, and fostering a positive and productive organizational environment. Emphasizing both the practical and theoretical aspects of supervision, the course prepares students to become effective leaders in behavior analytic practices, with a focus on improving the performance of individuals and teams.
